I have the Strictly bug!

As some of you know I have been struck with the strictly bug! At the end of September, I began my 8 week journey that is Strictly Northampton. A fundraising event that is put on every year by Step by Step dance school. The big show takes part at the Derngate Theatre on Nov 18th where I will be dancing my heart out for the audiences vote.

My journey so far……

Well there has been some sweat shed and some very sore muscles as we were thrown straight into a 3-hour training session to learn our dances. The chosen dances for this year are the Cha Cha Cha, the quick step and a free style group dance, our group will be dancing to Madonna’s vogue. Once the basics are taught we are paired up with a professional dance partner to perfect our techniques. I have been partnered with a very dance passionate, slightly bossy and slightly crazy guy called Lee Whitestone. He is definitely making me work hard whilst ensuring the experience is full of fun.

On the night….

November 18th is all about the spray tan, body glitter and the best hair and make-up in town. For the last 2 years Lara Boot Hairdressing have created the dancers’ hair with Beauty by Magda doing the make-up and this year is no different. I can’t wait to be strictlyfied and get up on the stage to hopefully show you that all the hard work has paid off.

The main reason….

The main reason for this event is to raise money for charity. Over the years Step by Step have raised a whopping £1.2 million through the Strictly Northampton event.

This year Step by Step have chosen the wonderful local Cynthia Spencer hospice, a charity close to many people’s hearts.

I’m absolutely determined to give this my all both with the dancing and how much money I raise. I will do the dance bit but I will need your help with the fund raising bit so please, please donate whatever you can to this fantastic charity.
