The Lara Boot Hairdressing team dressed up for Christmas

Christmas in the Salon

Well it’s that time of year again! The winter boots, coats, jumpers, hats and gloves are out, there’s frost every morning to be scraped off the car, then as soon as you’re inside, the heating goes on full blast! But aside from the bitter change of weather, everyone is warming up to celebrate this special holiday season with their families.

When first arriving at the salon in the morning, it’s so cold first thing, but once you’ve got the hairdryers going it soon gets warm and toasty. The Christmas period here is so hectic; the carols and tunes are being played as soon as 1st December rolls around because the boss loves a Christmas jingle! The decorations are out too, with everything combining to make the salon feel Christmassy and get everyone in the festive spirit.

It’s such a busy month but our clients are so lovely and supply plenty of chocolate and biscuits to help us get through. By the end of December, we all weigh a little more, which for some of us ain’t a bad thing, or so people tell us! Who needs a healthy lunch when we have chocolate which tastes ten times better?! Of course, the salon itself has expanded now and as such gave us the opportunity to take on more members of staff and therefore increase our client base, which means this Christmas will be even more jam-packed!

We fully appreciate that we’re not the only ones who are crazy-busy this time of year, and often find that because of forward thinking, all our clients are super-organised with their hair appointments. No one wants to have roots on show at Christmas, do they?! It’s the perfect time to take advantage of our ‘colour 10’, a 10-minute colour service, or maybe our colour refresh service (in-house or to take home), offering the same great coverage and shine in just 10 minutes. For more information on these, or any other quick-fix hair tips, please speak to your stylist.

No matter how booked up the salon is, we still work as a team to keep everything running smoothly. It’s the simple things that make the biggest difference, like checking the towels are plentiful and clean, ensuring the colour bowls have been washed up and getting clients gowned up and ready in good time for their stylist. We all like to listen to our clients to see what their plans are for over the holiday; clients with young children often mention that the kids get an email from Santa and then the little ones’ faces light up, knowing Santa is watching them! Things like that are what truly make Christmas special.

And before we know it, it’s Christmas Eve, and it’s time for us hairdressers to rest up, just like the elves that work for Santa once he’s out there in the night sky on his sleigh.

Merry Christmas everyone, love LBH team X
